As you all know I have been trying to get Slyder healthy. He has been eating very little since I have owned him and he poops once a day. He just now throw up and I paniced and put him in a fairly warm bath where he almost instantly pooped. I had my daughters surgery today and my sister was unsure about his lighting and with the crazyness of the surgery I did not think to tell her about his lights until about noon today so his tank was cooler then it normally is. I do not know what it was at b/c when I got home she had the lamp on for a while and it warmed the tank. He has energy, no twitching, using all limbs. I have also just started feeding him crickets from somewhere different. Could this be it? could it be a combination of all of it? Please let me know what to do!!!!

half a day without lights is not a problem. is that all you are freaking out over? or is there other concerning behavior. If i remember correctly you havent had him very long so the sporadic appetite is probably a sign of relocation stress which is normal.

did she feed him prior to his lights being on? They will puke up food that they are unable to digest (which if he ate and there was no heat then he could not digest the food)

First, I hope your daughter surgery went ok and she is experiencing a speedy recovery.

Second, as Brian pointed out, lights not being on for half a day is doable. With his health issues, you may want to invest in a light timer. You can pick them up at Home Depot pretty cheaply. For a couple bucks you will appreciate not being a slave to lights and you can ensure your beardie has a consistant light pattern (14 on/10 off).

As far as thowing up, it does happen on occassion for odd reasons. I would watch the behavior closely. If this does not reoccur, put your concerns on the back burner. If it happens again, consider taking him in for a vet checkup. Look for energy levels, appetite, and pooping. It sounds like all of that is fine for now.
