Help with Phenix

Socal Dragon

Hello,
I am very new to the Bearded Dragon Nation.
I recently purchased our first dragon (Phenix) a couple weeks ago for my daughter. This week we noticed this on her tail and was wondering if anyone knows what it is. It is somewhat dried out like a scab as are the scales around it. I’ve been told it may be yellow fungus but I’m not sure yet. Can anyone provide me some info before I decide to take it to the vet?
Any info or help would be much appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

That does look like yellow fungus. Thankfully, it looks like it's just in a small area on your dragon (for now). Here are some sites that can help you get more info but you should definitely take your beardie to the vet ASAP because if it gets serious your beardie can die from the fungus spreading too much and when it gets to that point they can die from the side effects of the medication for the fungus. It's definitely better not to wait.
.

Here is something directly from the second article that you can do right now:
  1. There are a few things you can do at home while you wait for your appointment.
    – Isolate your affected bearded dragon, yellow fungus (CANV) is a highly contagious disease.
    – Chlorhexidine soap diluted to 4% may be useful to begin treating the infection topically. Chlorhexidine soap can be purchased at chemists or pharmacies.
    – Minimize environmental stress. No unnecessary handling, movement near the cage or any other activity that could lead to stress.
    – Keep the enclosure to an ideal standard. Cleanliness (see post on cleaning) is extremely important.
Hope all goes well!
