So I’m going on a trip with my family over the summer and I’m leaving frank with a trusted friend. Could anyone help me make a list of stuff I should tell them to make sure frank stays great. I just wanted to double check before we go.

If he gets fed once a day he should be fine, make it as easy for the person as possible, just have them feed frank , if you can cut up paper bags and lay those down (so when frank poops all the person has to do is pick up a layer) keep a water dish in there and a dish bugs cant escape from, frank should be able to handle meal/supers by now id get some of those. All frank needs is to be checked on once or twice a day, fed, and poos cleaned, i had to leave my baby beardie with my grandma for two weeks i had her do the all above, have the bugs and everything next to the enclosure so the person doesn’t have to go looking for stuff. Id also take out any heavy decor or large rocks, you dont want the new person to accidentally squish him when cleaning.

Thanks what I think I will do is stick to the basics. I will have his 40 gallon with paper towels and one basking spot a water and food dish.
aslo I’m glad to here he can handle meal worms.

Hes older than 6months right? I believe you’ve had him a while now, i was feeding supers/meal worms to my bearded dragon at 5 months and she digested them fine.

Id get some supers or meal worms , see how he digests them, they’ll be easier to feed for whoever’s taking care of him :) crickets are difficult and dont stay in dishes as you probably know.

So how many would you say a day?
and also the person will be across from the street it think. So that means I will not have to change a thing. Except clean the enclosure befor.

Is he around like 12-15”? Id say he could eat like 7-15 meal worms, and maybe 2-3 supers a day, the super worm will put up more of a resistance , he’ll get a good workout from them,

He is about 11 to 12 inches. He will be a little on the small side as an adul. Thanks for it though. I also don’t how the person might feel about feeding crickets. They can be gross sometime. Meal worms so just put it in a bowl. If they can feed crickets and are ok with it I will most likely have them feed them. But if no what size should I get?

Id get the large mealworms, and the medium supers, stay away from anything labeled “mega” usually its the mealworms and they give those growth hormones to make them larger.

Here is someone who takes their dragon this might help

I go on road trips with my dragon all the time. Not all dragons are good with long car rides though. Best to wait a bit for them to get a little older then do some trial runs around town and see how that goes. I would get a pet carrier for the car like this: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EW2WKZU/
You can use it in the car (it straps onto a seat belt) and it can also be used as travel housing. I would get a dome fixture and good mercury vapor bulb as well as an adjustable lamp stand that you can set up where you're going (and in hotels etc). Black soldier fly larvae are good to carry with you for food because they're easy to keep in a car. Good to have cleaning supplies on hand such as vinegar spray, F10 disinfectant, paper towels, and plastic bags.
