Oh dear---- did the vet go over the risks etc? And is your vet a reptile vet? I guess the main question is do you trust them? If they are NOT a reptile vet that has no experience w/ dragons in particular here is a website for youShe has a small toy inside her for about 6 days now. But my lizard seems fine very energetic.
Licensed reptile vet In Monterey , Ca preformed surgery today and it was successfull! If a toy has been stuck for that long and she can't pass it, surgery is probably necessary. However, surgery should only be performed by a licensed exotic vet. If your vet does not specialize, please find one that does and get an evaluation before deciding on surgery.
Remember-animals are very good at hiding pain and illness. There's a difference between seeming fine and actually being fine. If left unattended, the toy can cause fatal problems-it seems way too large to be passed through poop.
Is your beardie still pooping regularly? It could be causing deadly impaction or other stomach issues.
