I have a 7.5 year old dragon and she is not very active lately wont eat and lethargic. Brought her to the vet her xray and blood work came back normal. I am not sure what to do at this point. :(

Is she sleeping during the day? Maybe she is in brumation. I have a 3 year old dragon that never brumated and then last month she went in her hide and didn't come out for 4 days. She came out for 4 days and then went back in her hide for 5 days.

Did the vet do a fecal and test for parasites?

I have two new bulbs but need new thermometers. Just notice mine dont work anymore. I will order new ones tonight and go from there. Vet suggested that she have no lights at night to replicate the drop in temps. This will be our second night doing so. Thanks.

yea they don't need any light at night of any color because of their 3rd eye (parietal eye) organ that detects shadows.. As long as your temps don't go below 65F your fine.. If so then just get a CHE ceramic heating element that only gives off heat..

She has had the same set up for years. it is just strange that all of the sudden she isn't doing well. I am hoping they find something in her stool sample. thanks so much for the suggestions

How's your baby doing today?? Have you heard back on the sample results yet? Have you noticed any change since no lighting at night?

I think I figured it out. I changed pets stores and light bulbs. I got new thermometers today and the bulbs just arent hot enough. The vet gave me a website and I will order online from them. then when I move we will maintain consistency. Hoping this is the issue. She has always been so healthy and active.
