Hello, I recently just took in this guy from an acquaintance that didn’t have time to take care of him. He is about 1-2 years old (from my knowledge) His enclosure did not meet standards by any means, he was on repticarpet and tank had significant debris and build up (believe he was only being fed dried mealworms) , I switched him to paper towels for now and gave him proper lighting and a better hide, I have a enclosure with tile flooring and rocks I will switch him to soon, just waiting for rocks to sanitize and tile to be cut. I did lift him up and handle him for first time and just wanted some opinions on some things I found
1) yellow specks on his belly, they appear to have a black outline but it’s almost polka dot on his whole belly
2) notices tail slower gets darker leading to tip
Please let me know your guys opinion on these

Belly looks like shed that hasnt come off -- the nails can be snipped on the ends and a good piece of slated ceramic tile in the tank will keep the nails down - you want some texture to the tile not coarse or smooth - coarse will cause abrasions and smooth he will slip all over --- next please go over the lighting and surface basking temps- how are you getting them and what are they -- next UVB is a long tube fixture or a coil? NO coils please they are a health hazard and will cause all kinds of health issues -- if you need links for good UVB's I can post 3 for you -- make sure you have 2 digital probe thermometers for accurate surface basking temps

I have a tubular UVB 10.0 covering most of the tank, hot side air temp 92 cool side 76 he does have some white scales could be just be entering shed? And yes I have black slate tile coming soon just waiting for it to be cut how can I assist him with the shed, previous bearded didn’t have any issues with it. Do want to mentioned he is still only 3 days in my car so still have some stress. Black bearded a lot when I walk by and he will glass surf for like 20-30 minutes then get tuckered out

That black slate tile may get too hot -- slate gets hot you dont want to burn him --- hot side should be 95-100 surface basking temp -- ambient 100-- I would get your cool side up to 80ish during the day -- cool and dark at night nothing under 65 ambient --- hes going thru relocation stress so give him time to adjust to his tank and surroundings -- if he stops eating all together something is off -- his appetite should not completely disappear -- what is the brand and bulb of the UVB and the screen on the tank like--- fine mesh like a screen door or a wide hole type?

Night time cool side drops to 70 and hot side stays around 80 he has a heat emitter he typically sleeps under

You dont need the heat emitter unless tank is dropping below 65 and or hes sick then that would be a good time to use it

If he enjoys sleeping under it should I leave it? Gives him a hot a cold side. Also considering moving him to new tank tomorrow is that a good idea with his current relocation stress?

You dont want the tank at night above 75 -- its too warm-- you can move him to a new tank we need to go over your lighting your using for a bigger tank -- the UVB needs to go inside the tank for a fine screen mesh -- directly over a piece of basking decor 12-15 inches - two digital probe thermometers for getting surface basking temps 95-100 -- solid clear bright white light --
