I'm new to this but can anyone help me? My bearded dragon was dragged through a bush and over a fence by my cat and now she seems to not be doing to well. My bearded dragon was on a harness and when the cat pulled, my bearded got choked by the leash. I saved her but she has a black beard, she is light skinned, almost pale, and she hardly moves or eats. Actually she hasn't eaten in two days. She has gone to the bathroom but it was difficult for her. I really worry about her and think her ribs are broken. Is there any chance at all she can be saved? Please read! Thanks! I am also thinking of bringing her to a vet but can they save her?

As the others have said, taking her to the Vet is the only option. The question of whether they can save her or not, really depends on the extent of her injuries & that can only be determined by being examined in person by a qualified Herp Vet.

Not to make you feel worse, but this is a warning to others, I have always said that cats & BDs don't mix, I get replies that they don't bother their particular BD, they are too old to bother with them, they are friends, they get along famously & the excuses go on & on, until something unfortunate like this happens and it happens soooo often. Cats are natural predators, if it is smaller & it moves, it is potential lunch or a living play toy. And they are way too curious, fast & violent for intervention.

If you have both a Cat & BDs, (I do) you have to be soooo vigilant, when out of the enclosure, never in the same room or area together. The BDs enclosure must be very secure to protect it. Anybody remember Tweetybird & Sylvester, while it is a cartoon, unfortunately it is very true ... Only in real life the cat generally catches it's prey & it is not pretty.

Laurila, please get your BD to a vet asap, I wish you both the very best of luck.

There is nothing normal about a preventable injury. It is very possible to have received internal trauma without breaking the skin or other outward marks. Only a Qualified Herp Vet will be able to answer that question with any kind of helpful certainty.

Went to the vet, they said she ruptured something inside and it is internal bleeding. I brought her home and now her eyes are sunken in and her mouth is open. Any ideas? Or should I give her time.

It would help to raise the temps in the enclosure 5-10F, something that seems to help any ill or healing BD. Give it some time, TLC & let the antibiotics & natural healing process do their job. I really wish & hope for a safe & speedy recovery for your Dragon, they are a Hardy creature. Thank you for being responsible & seeking professional help for your Pet.

Good Luck to you Both

I wish the best for the little one. And i hope your not hard on the cat for doing what comes naturally to him/her. Me and my gf keep our cat away from the bd's {its a chore i know} just for that reason. Again i hope for a fast and healthy recovery.

Thank you everyone for your support. At least now she can rest peacfully, something she couldn't do in her little cage.
