Hi I'm Erin and I just got a bearded dragon today I've had them in the past but has been a while I'm just wondering about how often I should feed him, I've got him crickets and wax worms and greens but I'm wondering how much of those I should give him, also I'm wondering about the water cause do I have to give him water or do I just leave it in a bowl and he will drink.

Rinse the greens before you serve him-- that will give him hydration- how old is the dragon and the lighting your using- NO COILS for a UVB - they are the worst- you want a long tube fixture like a Zoo Med or sunblaster or Arcadia 24" fixture for a 40 + gallon tank - you will need a 22" Reptisun 10.0 T 5 or Arcadia 12% bulb--- a bright white basking bulb that keeps temps 105-110 for a baby or 95-100 for a juvie/ adult - that temp needs to be taken w/ a digital probe thermometer- that lighting MUST be correct or he will quit eating- those things I posted are the most important things in the tank

Where do you have the UVB? Inside the tank and is it a T 5 or a T 8? This is very important for placement and distance - how old is the UVB bulb? Watch his poops they should be dark formed and moist --- urate should be white formed and moist NO dried out chalky looking that is a sign of dehydration

Hi no the uvb is on the top of the tank it's over the branch where he sits as well as the other bulb is, they are not brand new, how often should I change the bulbs out? He hasn't pooped yet cause he only just go in his tank, his skin is a bit lose looking is that a sign of dehydration?

Not really poops are better- I need the bulb T 5 or T 8 -- placement and distance is different between bulbs along w/ when they need to be changed out

Okey I'm just asking the guy I got him from when he changed them out last and if he can remember what they are, how often do they poop and urate? I'm set him up and gave him some wax worms he ate them all and now I'm just waiting to see when he poops..I'm gonna keep an eye on him

Please look on the bulb it will tell you brand and bulb--- he's gonna go thru relocation stress his eating is going to be off so his eating will slow if he quits eating all together there is a issue- wax worms should only be fed sparingly they are very fatty and too many and long term can cause liver damage- you want to feed him fresh salads everyday and a staple feeder 2-3 times / week - dubiaroaches crickets and silk worms and bsfl are all good staple feeders worms are good for treats- but your lighting needs to be correct that's why iam asking about the uvb--
