Thought that I would say hello to everyone. I have been slowly reading some of the post over the last few weeks. I am new to bearded dragons, and plan on buying one in the near future. When I was younger I had a green iguana for a number of years till she past away. Me and my boy would like to build a cage. I would like to know if anyone has ever used plastic fiberglass reinforced sheets in their habits. Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum!! Happy to see that you are doing your research before getting a beardie :) there is much to learn, but since you've had a iguana you kinda know how important it is to have things set up...
If you haven't take a look at the links below several of our comments for general care for new comers as it covers most of what you will need.. As far as building with fiberglass I personally don't have the knowledge you are looking for and if you haven't you can post in the bearded dragon enclosure section as many have built their own....
good luck and look forward to seeing your progress and future dragon

Welcome to the forum.
I think it's great that you want to build an enclosure with your boy what a great bonding experience that will be :)
Building an enclosure is the way to go! You can save money in the long run and make a big custom Viv with the quality you just simply can't find in stores. I wish I could build because believe me it's something I would love to do as well.
I have no experience building enclosures but I have herd of other using the fiberglass sheets to line plywood and other material in theirs. As far as I know it would be perfectly fine and actually easier to clean. It will also make the enclosure water resistant which is never a bad thing.
Best of luck to you!
