As of last Saturday I am a first time bearded dragon owner. I've had a lot of pets over the years, in some cases with fairly specific needs, so I did a lot of research in the months I've been visiting them at the pet store. The color coded foods list from here is amazing, as was the advice on lighting and other cage set-up info.

I'm not sure of his age, but he's approximately 9 inches from nose to tail. I'm calling it a him, though to be honest I don't really know if it's a male or female. His name is Drogon Smeagol because my kid insisted on "helping" by adding Smeagol on there. I really love the little guy already. Such a great personality!

Welcome to the forum and I am happy to hear that the info you've found here has been helpful as we really do try to do so.. In the link at the bottom of our comments does have info on how to sex your little one however it looks like he/she is pretty small yet however the flashlight test will be really helpful and that info is in that link on general care..

What a cutie!

Oooh, thanks! I had read about the 1 bump vs. 2 bumps method, and yes, he/she is too small for me to really tell, but the light trick is news to me.
