Hi, I have a lovely beardie named Bahamut. I've had him for a little under a year now. I hope to learn how to better take care of him and share all that I have learned about beardies since I've gotten him.

I joined this forum because the Facebook groups were full of cliques and gangs who only seemed to answer questions that would inspire drama (like mine).

Otherwise I'm also looking advice on making my enclosure more fun for my beardie and not just a tank full of tile. (Which I would admit is ideal, but I'd like to offer him a little more of a stimulating environment).

Welcome! We don't bite (hard) so feel free to ask away.

As far as things to put into a vivarium to stimulate the dragon, I keep mine pretty simple. A reptihammock usually goes over very well. Some branch to climb up on and bask. Somewhere to hide, though only one of my three dragons actually uses a hide like a hide instead of something else to climb on.

I read somewhere that you can put a ping pong ball in there for them to play with, but 3 out of 3 of my dragons ignore it.

If you really want to make sure that the little guy is properly stimulated, house him in the room where you spend most of your time and he can watch your coming and going. And let him out for a romp outside the vivarium regularly.

Hi and welcome to the forum. This is the best beardie forum u will find everyone here very nice and helpful we all enjoy sharing stories tips and anything else u wanna share feel free.
I was the same as u wen I first got Diego n Boris. I have tile in both my vivs well I have 3/4 tile and 1/4 sand pit at basking end(sand not great for small beardies wait till at least 14cm) with some stone for them to sit on. N both my boys have a nice big bamboo log to climb on. A plant to make it look a little pretty but that's all. Keep it nice n simple more floor space the better.
And just a little Addition. My Boris luvs teddies as soon as he gets out he will hunt the house till he finds one of the kids teddies and he snuggles in n goes sleep so Boz also has a spongebob teddy in his viv who he snuggles up to to go sleep it's so so sweet. To go off the subject a little. It was so funny a few months ago he poop on his usual teddy n it was looking a little dingy so I binned it n put another one in. He was not happy one bit must have liked the teddy I put in coz he bobbed at it for ages so u had to change it for spongebob. He likes spongebob :) il post a pic wen I get home. :) u just need to find out wot ur beardie likes. Some ppl put some cloth in the viv like a t shirt u have worn coz the beardie will sleep on it n get used to ur smell at the same time then they will think of ur smell as comforting nothing nicer than a beardie snuggle :)

Welcome :)

O my, I like the ping pong ball idea. I'm looking for one right now to throw it in my tank :D

This is what my tank looks like (minus the big tree, since it was too dangerous/spicky, and the sand is replaced with carpet (/sigh)):

Welcome! I personally have a simple tank for both mine. Each has a ledge, hammock basking spot. Dexter has a turtle shell hide that she never goes under but sometimes sits on. Luci refuses to use any sort of hide but yet always finds something to hide under when we let him run free. We have them in front of a window so they can watch the world go by and we also take them out as much as possible and let them run around the house. That usually gives them enough entertainment.
