So my fiance wants a beardie. He has for many many years. He knows pretty much everything about them.
I want to get him one. I am nervous because I want the beardie to like me too but because we don't live together yet and won't for at keast another year I am worried it won't like me. Any tips for bonding? Anything I should know about picking out the baby?

The baby should be alert, head held up (ask the breeder or sales person if unsure). Make sure eyes are bright, no gunk. Then if they have those things, ask the person who is selling them with ones like to be held and such. Baby's can be rambunctious, but handling is the key.
As far as liking you, it's all about trust. If they trust that your not going to hurt them they usually have no problem being picked up and pet.

Go online and watch some how to videos. Any more questions just ask. Everyone here is very nice and have tons of experience. Hope this helps!
Cheers

Good morning – welcome to the forum! Take a look around at some of the other posts. Babies require a lot of care – I've never had one but I understand it can be rewarding. They need to be fed three times a day maybe 15 crickets each time. They grow quickly. An older beardie - say at least six months May be easier to start with. My meal was a-year-old when I got him and my female was about four years old when I got her.

A baby dragon ius very difficult for beginners, like Canicke said you should start with a juvenile. Just interact with thr dragon without fear and anxiety and you shouldnt have any problems

Find a reptile show or a breeder. You'll most likely end up with a much higher quality animal at a much lower price.

Find an online source for bugs. It'll save you a small fortune and driving to the pet store to restock is a pain.

Unless it's a pet store that specializes in reptiles, take any care advice with a very, very large grain of salt.
