Hi I've had bearded dragons in the past and had 100watt red basking bulb they have never had a issue with red basking bulbs now I'm being told there will be issues. It's a baybthatbi got today and she seems happy so is it ok with a red. Basking bulb??? Around the vivarium there's white normal light it's a LED strip light no issues can anyone help lol

Any colored bulb at all are harmful to the dragons eyes- they have a 3rd eye on top of their head for predators and colored bulbs will damage that eye-- you want a solid clear bright white basking bulb for heat and UVA -- NO off white NO colored NO daytime and NO yellowish bulbs -- examples of basking bulbs are Arcadia Halogen -- Flukers basking or Exo Terra Intense -- UVB's NO coils you want a long tube fixture like Zoo Med -- Sunblaster Nano Techs or a Arcadia Pro T 5 -- I can post links for all these if you need them or want them

Please let me know what you get for a UVB --- they have certain placement and distance -- the screen will determine where the UVB needs to go --- please make sure your using a digital probe thermometer to get accurate surface basking temps for the heat bulb 95-100 for an adult dragon
