Hello! :)

My name is Nancy, and my husband and I recently adopted our first beardie. We named her Arya and she's an adult female, supposedly 2 years old or so.

I adore her and she's got quite the curious nature.

She scared the heck out of us the other day, however, when she was in a deep, deep sleep for the night. I thought she had passed away and I was devastated. Turns out she can just really conk out.

We also have a leopard gecko (he was a rescue) named Corona. He's patternless.

We plan on planting up a 47 gallon tall aquarium, turning it into a vivarium and keeping a few cresties in there. We've fallen in love with reptiles, and as a plant person, the two hobbies seem to be a great fit.

Nice to meet everyone!

Thank you, Beardie123. :)

I am a bit nervous about converting an upright 47 gallon. I don't know how to make the front opening doors, so I feel like I'm destined to the ladder system.

Any tips?

Could you post a pic of the tank please, then explain what you want to do. I am unclear as to your plans  .

Just an FYI in case you were not aware - Tall enclosures are not recommended for BDs, they are a terrestrial creature, somewhat Arboreal while younger. Floor space is of much more importance than height. Tall enclosures are hard to heat properly & hard to provide effective UVB coverage.

I think this became confusing. My beardie has a 40 gallon long.

My future cresties are the ones who I am working on the 47 tall for.

Why can't you post BD and non-bd (to share your fam) in the intro section? I could understand if it was in a bd exc
Usive section, but my feedback here would be that it is MOD heavy, and alienating, to come down on an intros st in that fashion.

Why in the intro section is it exclusive to BDs? I would think an intro would be all encompassing.

Ah. Just a note.

It read different to me as a long time forum user ;)

It reads funny. It reads like I shouldn't have posted Corona in Introductions.

Yes, we would rather not have them posted anywhere but the 'Other Pets' section, that is why it is there, to give members the opportunity to do so. Yes, the Intro is also BD specific,

feel free to mention your interests in your other pets, but please discuss & post pics of them in the 'Other Pets' Section. But you were not aware of this, thus the comment for future reference, which was posted for informational purposes.
