Hello everyone, my name is Heather. I have not yet gotten a dragon yet but have been looking and doing a lot of research. My son seen some at the pet store and told me he wanted a lizard. After reading about them and watching videos I have decided that I want one as well. After looking around I found someone selling two with the tank and all the fixings, if everything looks good and works out I will have two adult dragons one male and female. At this point I know that I don't want to breed so will have to keep them separate. Any advice or thoughts I would really appreciate. Looking forward to meeting and talking with everyone.

Heather

Definitely separate them and if you can locate their tanks so they can't see each other. Beardies are lots of fun and cause us owners lots of worry! Make sure your setups are good to go before you get your beardies. Temps and lights are very important. One of the other moderators will post some good articles to read. I still haven't figure out how to post! Lots of people here to help you out on your new adventure. Good luck and come back often!! :)

Welcome to the BDF Community:)
Here are those links Pat referred to. They contain a wealth of info to help you get things right for your new dragons from the start!
Be sure to pay special attention to the Co-habitation link since you have two dragons. Co-habitation of bearded dragons for ANY length of time is NOT an option as you will see. Please do get them into separate enclosures asap for their well-being, safety and for your peace of mind!
After reading through the info in the links should you have any questions or concerns never hesitate to shout out...The BDF is chock full of eager, enthusiastic and experienced "Beardie Folk" that are here to help you and your dragons have a happy, healthy and long adventure together:)

I will definitely be coming back here often. Before I worried about housing them together because of breeding but after going through some of the information on this page there are bigger things to worry about than just having babies. I am a very big animal lover and any harm that comes to animals because of human error or negligence upsets me. I don't want to be one of those people. As far as I know the person that I am getting the beardies from has them housed together but I am for sure going to fix that for the beardies sake. Thank you for the links and the welcomes. Once I get the beardies home and settled in I will be posting pictures. Than you again for the useful information.
