I have had Bruce for almost 8 months. I bought him from a guy off a swap shop in our area. He had him for a few months but couldn't afford a bigger set up for him. Bruce was healthy except part of the end of his tail was gone. He had a thick numb ending instead of a long whip tail. I have since upgraded him to a 55 gallon tank. He has grown a lot in these past few months and has one hell of a personality. He loves to be held and petted. Enjoys his weekly baths and eats like a bandit. lol. I love my little Bruce. I think he loves me, lol. Before and after pic below.

Welcome to the forum! That's alot of growth in 8 mnths and he's got some really cool patterns. What is his diet at this age?

He eats mostly mustard greens at this stage. He does eat some of the meat blend I got him form Nature Zone but not near what he used to eat. He is really picky about his greens also. We get him fresh mustard greens from my mother-in-laws garden.

You really should be feeding him live protein. The premade meat products aren’t really made for dragons. Their bodies aren’t meant to process meat proteins like other animals do.

He’s very handsome. You may also want to think about getting him a more spacious tank eventually. With dragons it’s not the gallon size that is important, but the floor space.

What protein would you suggest?

Dubia roaches are the best or discoid roaches if you are in FL. Silkworms are real good. BSFL, superworm, hornworms. These things all move and get them interested and teach them to hunt.

The jars of pellets and whatnot are full of added preservatives and dyes. It’s like giving kids candy and chips.
