Heating at night Question

Hello,
I just bought a baby beardie 2 weeks ago and then 2 days later bought another (separate spaces). My baby is about 5 inches long so very young. I have done tons of research that says to turn the heat lights off at night. They have both UVB and Heat and cool side. Hot side sets at about 100 degrees. My only worry is with the baby being so small will he get to cold at night? Should I get some kind of heat that doesn't emit light for night use? It gets about 65 degrees-ish in my house at night typically. We just got turned off the AC but it is not time for heat yet so I don't want either of them to get to cold at night.

No colored bulbs --- your tank is fine at 65 if it gets lower this winter then I suggest a CHE ceramic heat emitter --- you will need a dome w/ a ceramic socket -- you might want to start w/ a 100 watt but make sure you get over nite temps in the 70's is fine - nothing over 80 that is too warm --- dragons sleep better w/ cool temps and NO light -- if they are sick however it is good to have a CHE on hand to keep temps warmer at nite so it keeps their immune system up - if you need help w/ other lighting please ask

So no colored heat bulbs even during the day? They gave me that when I asked for a heat bulb when I bought the baby. I will get a new one ASAP if that is not recommended at all!!

You want a bright white basking bulb for basking during the day --- NO colored bulbs at all they are harmful to the dragons eyes and can cause long term eye damage you want this for basking https://www.petsmart.com/reptile/en...nse-basking-spot-light-14809.html?cgid=500202
What size tank is he in ? I would start w/ a 100 watt for a 40 + gallon tank - MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A DIGTIAL PROBE TO GET THE TEMP - you do not want to burn him up they look like this https://www.petsmart.com/reptile/en...um-digital-thermometer-14914.html?cgid=500202
take the probe set it on the place he sits to bask and then get the temp in 10 minutes - basking temps need to be 105-110 for a baby-- NO hotter --- now that leads me to the next question what are you using for a UVB? If its a coil it needs to be replaced --- if it looks like this it is No Good https://www.petsmart.com/reptile/en...mpact-fluorescent-bulb-16227.html?cgid=500202

He is in a 20 gallon he does have the red light but I got the Repti basking Spot lamp 75w i attached a photo
The picture of the UVB you said not to use is what I have again attached a photo. With that being said what type of UVB light bulb do you recommend? Also just curious as to why these are harmful to them, i went to petco and bought the bearded dragon combo pack and that's what it came with. I will also be getting a probe thermometer you suggested. Thanks for all your help.
One last question unrelated to lighting. How do you get them to eat their veggies the store said they gave them Kale & Sweet Potatoes and they ate it now i can't get him to eat very many if any veggies. I've tried different types as well.

Hi the Hot side for a bay Beardie should be 100-105, they like it around 103-105 too they are 3-4mnths or so they u can do 100 as he gets older. Omg eh summer ZooMed heat lamp and uvb are on for 12-14 hours per day & in the winter 10-12 hours per day. At nite never ever use lights. Buy a ceramic heat emitter with a ceramic holder which emits heat and no light. It’s by ZooMed her the 60watt one and place it on the side of the tank that he sleeps on. At nite the temp should be 80-85 till he gets to be older like 7mnths or soo then the temp at nite should never drop below 70. Don’t use the ceramic when he’s older if the temp at nite is 70 or higher coz it’s nice for them to cools down at nite when they sleep, but as babies hey need to be around 80 or so.
