Hey! So I live in a place that’s usually pretty hot on the average day, but this winter it’s been a LOT colder than it normally is and it’s been around 50-60 degrees outside and we don’t keep the heater on inside because it can get pricy and usually never need it because it never gets this cold, so in this case I’ve been keeping the heat lamp on at night for my beardie, is this bad? Should I start turning it off and turn on his UV light? I thought it would be better to keep his heat lamp on just in case it’s too cold for him and he usually lays under his heat lamp at night.

They should have night time darkness. For night heat you can buy a ceramic heat emitter (CHE) that provides heat without light. They're not very expensive.
Please do not leave his basking light on all nite -- as suggested get a CHE -- bulbs come in different wattages so depending on what size your tank is is going to depend on the wattage -- you want temps in the tank not below 65 and not over 75 at nite -- a stick on will give ambient temps -- but its good to have a digital probe thermometer as well stuck to the side of the tank -- if your tank is 40 gallon or plus I would start w/ a 100 watt bulb but make sure your watching that temp at nite - you will need a dome fixture w/ a ceramic socket - please ask if you have any more questions
