Health Insurance for your Beardie

Do any of you have health insurance for your Beardie? We have it for our dogs (through Embrace Pet Insurance) and found that VPI has a reptile policy under their exotic pet insurance that is very reasonable - it's $9 per month or $84 per year. We went ahead and purchased a policy for Sal, our 2 year old Beardie we adopted last week, and will be getting an additional policy for our frilled dragon that we're adopting on the 23rd (http://mybeardie.com/bearded-dragon-forum/other-pets/we-are-adopting-a-frilled-dragon/).

I know a lot of people think it's a waste of money, but one of our dogs has already had two surgeries (one for an injury to his hip and another for his ear) and the insurance was a lifesaver. It's reimbursement based, like most policies (you pay the vet and they issue you a check for 90% of the bill minus a $50 deductible) but it is a huge help. Sal's policy covers injuries, illness, prescriptions, x-rays, blood tests, labs, everything. Of course, I hope we never have to use it and it does become a waste of money since that will mean he's healthy but if something does come up I feel better knowing that I can make decisions based solely on what is best for him and not what is best for my pocketbook.

Interesting. I know they had it for dogs, but never bought any. I didn't know they had it for reptiles. This could come in handy for those who find the vet bills costly.
