What kind of lighting does reptar have? If he has a “coil” uvb that can be prolonging his brumation, these bulbs are bad for beardies and cause problems,.. if that is the issue? , he looks kinda poorly , i see the dried bugs, are those only his diet?

Nooo!!!!!! I have some freeze dried meal worms close in case he wakes during the night or while I’m at work. The light doesn’t get to him because he has been inside the burrow. But it it IS a coil. He woke up about a week ago and I put him in the bath for water and he went right back to sleep. He saw the vet only a few weeks prior to going into brumation had a clean bill of health his weight was good the vet said that he was in good health so he went into rumination healthy I’m just concerned because it’s been so long. I have read that it could last 3 to 4 months but that makes me very uneasy this is our first brumation. Also, late jan. - feb is when it starts getting cold cold here ( Myrtle beach) so maybe that’s the cause of him doing it so late? I’ve also read not to bother them during this phase also. This is all why I’m reaching out. I don’t want to have to spend the exotic vet bill for them to tell me this is normal.
Sincerely,
Amy Reptar

Please get rid of the coil--- you need a long tube fixture like this for a 40+ gallon tank
https://www.petmountain.com/product/zoo-med-reptisun-t5-ho-high-output-terrarium-hood 24" this will come w / a 5.0 bulb hang on to it for a back up distance and placement is different from the one you need like this a 22" bulb
When you get this please post back on here so I can help you get it set up in the tank distance and placement is crucial --- I would start waking him up and get a weight on him do you have a copy of the office call when he was in last and have you weighed him at all since going into brumation -- if not you need to do so -- it is not uncommon for them to brumate for 2-3 months but not over 3 months --- make sure basking temps are 95-100 for adult dragon ----- please dont feed them at nite --- they need atleast 2-3 hrs of basking time after they eat to start digestion

Hello, I definitely agree with Sadie... coil bulbs simply don't output enough proper UVB for beardies to survive with. Investing in a T5 HO 10.0 UVB long tube bulb would be in the best interest of your bearded dragon. This is the first step

Thank you guys so much, I haven’t even had him a whole year yet and I’m trying to learn as much as possible. And thank you for being kind and directing me in the right direction. I love this little guy and really want to do what’s best for him. I’m going to get the light today

It’s an 18 inch T8
Ok please place it in the tank w/ NO obstruction --- NO clear plastic cover over the bulb --- you did get the Reptisun correct? Distance should be 6-8 inches directly above the basking decor piece -- you can hang w/ these
3 M command Velcro fasteners- picture hanging wire – long plastic zip ties-- fishing line-- potted plant wire hangers-- or this stuff it works great I use in my tanks -- its like a Velcro strap cut into strips wrap around your fixture -- https://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-15-ft-Cable-Ties-Hook-and-Loop-Spool-Black-10375/304220195
let me know he is doing after you get it in the tank -- you should notice a difference in his behavior right away

He looks alot more alert ! :) always good to heard it was just a lighting issue and not something serious.

My beardie was in brumation for months, and at one point he did not move a muscle for a straight week, no food or anything. I explained everything in my youtube channel "TalksWithMelissa" but he is now out of brumation and doing great, so if hes not sick, hes probably fine.
