Having a girl and a boy

I'm not really looking to get another bearded just yet but I know in the future I will be getting another one. I was quite close to getting one the other day.
The pet store that I usually go to for the reptile supplies had some baby beardeds. The store worker showed me one of the girls, very pretty and flashy. I nicknamed her America because she's brown but had lots of red, and some small very distinct blue patches on her, and a little white around her face. But, it was her clutch mate, a normal looking tan boy, that caught my eye. As soon as I went to the tank, he came right to the front and was glass climbing and kept tilting his head at me. But I told myself no and went home. Went to that store 2 other times and both were still there and each time, the little boy would do the same thing and come right up to say hello.
The last time I went, I was actually at the point where I told myself that if the boy is still there, I'll ask to hold him. Of course, if I held him, I would most likely not let him go after that. Turns out, the little boy was sold. America was still there though, surprisingly.
Anyway, to my question finally lol. As I was going to the store, with the possibility that I may be bringing home another bearded, it got me thinking about something:
Could the presence/smells of a boy get Precious to start laying eggs, even if she never came in contact with him? I don't know why, but I have a fear of that happening to Precious. I even had a nightmare once that I had a boy and Precious bloated and was sick because she had eggs stuck. I know a few of you have both girls and boys and I haven't read anything here about this but I wanted to know what your thoughts were.

I don't think the presence of a boy will make the girl lay infertile eggs. Dexter and Luci have lived near each other for 1 1/2 years now and she has never laid eggs. She doesn't even react to him when she sees him. She more looks to me like "what is he doing?" I worry more about Luci getting a sperm plug than Dexter getting eggs. When he is out of his tank running around and she is also in the room (at a safe distance) he sees her but doesn't do anything. I don't know if it's because I am close by her and blocked him a few times when he tried before or if he is just more interested in being out free. Now lately if he is sitting in his tank and I am holding Dexter nearby, he will puff his beard out when he sees her.

The pet stores are dangerous places, that's how we got Luci. I went to "look" and he came to the front of the tank and wanted me to hold him and that was it! I left the store and we went home and discussed things and the boyfriend said go back and get him! We didn't have his full tank yet but I had a 20 gallon and all the lights and fixtures and decorations. Getting a second dragon was easy because we had lots of stuff laying around the house that we could sterilize and use for him. Plus, having Dexter for a year at that time we kinda knew exactly what we needed to do for him.

I'm realizing now, if we would have gotten Luci before Dexter we wouldn't have gotten another one. Still after 1 1/2 years he's still a little nervous around us. He lets us pet him and he will snuggle on us when he's tired but just holding him he sometimes struggles and wants to get down. It's like he has A.D.D.! Dexter was so mellow and still is that we were brainwashed into thinking another one would be the same way!

You with Dexter and Luci came to mind. I didn't see you ever mention anything about Dexter with eggs or anything but I was just curious. It's a shame about Luci though, he needs to get with the program and realize how lucky he is! He probably thinks just sitting around looking gorgeous is all he needs to do! ;)
But I already know the only way we'll go is downhill as far as getting another bearded like Precious.
The day we brought Tequila home, the first thing I told my son was that we really lucked out with Precious and he can't expect all beardeds or other lizards to be like her...I know since Precious was his first experience with lizards, he expected all lizards to be similar to her. Then shortly after we got Tequila, he had the gall to say that he wished he got another bearded instead!
Tequila is an absolute doll...but only with me (and Precious). I actually have to get pics and videos to show my son some of the cute things Tequila does because he doesn't believe me otherwise lol. As soon as I go to her cage, she'll pop her head out of her hide and look at me, or come to the door if she's not sleeping. When my son goes, she'll turn in the opposite direction and try to hide more. When I hold her, she's almost like a ragdoll, very calm, I can do anything to her. When he holds her, she's squirming all over the place and won't be still. When I kiss her on her nose, she actually wiggles and rubs her nose on my lips...don't know exactly what she's doing or why but it's adorable. When he goes to kiss her, she opens her mouth and almost seems like she's going to bite his nose, lol. My son asked the other day, why is Tequila so cute with me and not him. I told him because he gave up on her right away as soon as he saw she wasn't another Precious!

Yes Dexter and Precious and even my frogs have set the bar real high. Bumble the chameleon is pretty to look at but a jerk otherwise! He "bumbles" around his tank and walks real slow and as soon as our hands go in he bolts! I sometimes get hisses from him which literally sounds like a tiny pterodactyl crying out!
