I touched on this last month about the importance of having extra dome fixtures. I want to remind everyone that it's also important to have a backup for your UVB light.
I LOVE my T5 lights and will continue to use them. I think my beardies are healthier and more active with them than they were with the T8 bulbs. I came home from work today and Luci's fixture is humming and the light is flickering. Changed the bulb 2X and still the same. Sounds like the ballast might be going but there was also a weird smell coming from the fixture. Luckily I still had the T8 hoods and light to use as a backup until things get figured out.
I've emailed ZooMed and waiting for their response. I've only had them for 3 months so hopefully they will replace it or something. I've dealt with them in the past with other products and they've been very helpful. Of course Dexter doesn't agree about their customer service...she's still waiting on that extra large/extra hold hammock she asked them for!
