unfortunately my bearded dragon haven't arrived yet, all what i know is it will be a Juvenile.
[i have been informed that the beardie didnt arrive yet because the breeder thinks that they will die during shipment]

but i have a question for future reference.

should i literally always handle my bearded dragon when it is a baby/still very hyper?

how to manage holding them when they are hyper? [using a tent?]

knowing that hyper babies have the possibility of being injured outside their safe enclosure/home makes me know for sure that i shouldn't carry the bearded dragon around. But what if i put him in a pouch? I personally own "Sugar Gliders/ Petaurus Breviceps" and they have a special pouch, im sure that pouch cant be used for a reptile, but i'll manage to customize a special one for my little baby.

When you get your new BD, juvenile or not.... allow time for "new home acclimation". Every BD experiences adjustments of their environment. So with this said, give it 10-14 before really handling it in the open. I'm sure most injuries are from accident and after all, he/she will be a bit nervous when you first have your BD. After that, I would start handling at a close to ground level in case your BD decides to jump. Your pouch idea sounds good too. Any pics?
