How fast do juveniles grow, exactly? Arthur has hit a massive growth spurt lately. He just finished shedding last week and his tail and legs are dulling in preparation for another shed.

In two weeks he gained almost 60 grams. His bug eating has slowed considerably, but he can't seem to get enough greens.

He seems fat, happy, active. Is that kind of rapid growth typical?

How old is he again? Dexter did that for a few months when she was younger she put on tons of weight and then she leveled off and stopped shedding. She didn't shed for like 6 months or so and then in January she started again but very patchy a foot here, a toe there. Now she is shedding just an inch portion on the middle of her tail!

I'm not exactly sure how old he is. We got him in January, so I'd have to guess that he's in the 7 to 9 month range. He was 311 grams when I weighed him yesterday.

He also looks like he's going to be one of those fat looking dragons. He's getting a huge pouch under his neck and his neck is becoming less defined.

Maybe I should have named him Cartman.

Haha - as a huge Southpark fan I appreciate that last statement. So far everything sounds normal, as long as you're practicing good husbandry, keeping him hydrated, and he has an appetite. You are talking to someone that has one of those fat dragons. :D Mine was a huge insect junkie for years and almost never ate greens, but now she's a solid 50/50.

On a side note, those little pouches under his neck (mine has 'em too) are fat stores, so it's an indication of a well-fed dragon.
