Greens and other veggies

I know what the best greens and veggies are for my beardies but I'm paranoid that some have pesticides on them and could be toxic. I spoke with a breeder recently who told me Aldi foods greens and vegetables are poison for my dragons. I'm assuming this was based on past experiences. Do others here buy certified organic, pesticide free for their dragons. Where are you buying yours from? I wash my greens before giving them to mine but I'm concerned that it might not be enough to just wash it. Maybe i'M PARANOID but don't want to feed them anything that might be harmful to them. Your opinions on this is very much appreciated. Is there a safe detergent to use while washing greens to help remove pesticide residue that might be on them?

I buy certified organic greens for Ruth and Mushu. I get mine at a store called Giant, but I believe it's a regional food chain. I live in PA and don't remember seeing them back home in IL. When I rinse mine, I use cold water. I don't know that I would trust any detergent to be safe, because I'm a bit paranoid too. Way paranoid. I don't even use chemicals in my home. Make everything myself! But back on topic, I think organic, from a smaller chain, mom and pop shop, or a even a farmers market would be the safest bet.

I guess I'm just cynical, but I'm suspicious of any claim of organicality (I know that's not a real word). I've seen so many stories about the food industry that it's hard to believe them. On the other hand, what else can you do but buy organic and trust the grocers and growers to tell the truth?

I rinse off my greens and such but I don't buy organic mainly because it's pricey..

I'd really like to trust that the products I buy are organic, but we live in a nation brimming with false advertisement, so without testing for the presence of chemicals and doing a molecular analysis to deduce whether or not they are GMO, it's hard to say for certain. When I no longer live in a rental owned by a tyrant, I hope to have a garden of lush, organic, greeny goodness!

I buy mostly organic because Whole Foods is the only store near me that has mustards, collards and dandelion. Sometimes though I can find collards and mustards at the local grocery store. Wherever I buy mine from, I chop them and put them in salad spinner and rinse 3 times or until the water is clear. I use warmish water because I heard somewhere that rinsing with cold water doesn't clean the well.

The only thing I have a problem with is buying the organic mustard greens. This time of year there are so many bugs in them, it's as if they were just picked from someones yard. One time I found a roach it them!!!! Now when I buy any greens I hold them out and shake them real good before I put them in the bag!

On a side note, my Aldi's store always smells like something went there to die. So I can see why they said that about Aldi's greens.
