As some of you guys know, my Bearded Dragon, Tater Tot, passed away a few weeks ago from something I couldn't stop. I've been searching everywhere for a new scaly friend, though it won't be the same as Tater Tot. Last night, I was looking on the Redding Reptiles, a reptiles store in my area, FaceBook page and I saw that they had a subadult Bearded Dragon. Just what I was looking for! I asked them if he was up for sale and they said yes. I'll be soon getting him and loving every moment with him! Here's a picture of him:

Good for you for being able to accept that it wasn't your fault and moving on. That can be tough. Wishing you the best of luck with your new one!

I got to the store today and the woman there was excited that I would get a new one. I saw that the one I wanted was super aggressive and over $200. I decided to get one of the babies. The woman got out this super chill baby and I knew he was the one. He's a leatherback with a little but of translucent in him. Here he is! Sorry for the bad quality and I'll hopefully have better pictures soon.

I'll fill you in with the story. It started off on April 8th at night. My beardie was sleeping next to me, being adorable as always. Then she started acting odd. She puffed up, turned black, and wouldn't move. This was very unusual of her so I started panicking. She then sucked in and took a huge breath. This went on for about an hour and she went back to normal. I had no idea what was going so I tried looking up her symptoms. Everything led to a respiratory infection. The next day, she was fine. Nothing was wrong. I just assumed it was just a one-time only thing. But no, it happened again the next day. I took her to the vet and they checked everything. Her heart rate, weight, mouth, etc. I told him everything I did for her including lighting, heat, calcium, food, substrate, size of tank, etc. I said it all under 2 minutes and he was amazed of how well I took care of her. He said I'm one of the only few people who actually know what they're doing. He couldn't find anything wrong with her and said to take a video of her doing the odd breathing and puffing. All of that day I was just waiting for her to act up. I was scared of losing my amazing Beardie. I took many pictures of her that day, not even knowing she was gonna go. I put her to bed that night and she was perfectly fine. I woke up the next day and it was pouring down rain. I turned on her lights and saw her in the corner with her mouth opened. I quickly got her out and she went limp. She was gone. I just couldn't believe it. I planned 10 wonderful years with her. That was the worst day of my life. My mom even started tearing up from the loss. All we know is that it wasn't anyone's fault. She was almost 2 and was super chill with everyone. All my friends and family adored her and she will never be forgotten. A few days pass and I go to the reptile store and talk to the people about her, which they know everything I've been doing with her. They couldn't believe that she died and wanted me to start over. They knew I was good enough to get a knew one. When my sister got home from her missions trip, she was stunned. I talked to her that we'll get a new one, but it will never be the same as Tater Tot. A few weeks pass I see that they've posted on Facebook about new Bearded Dragons. That is how I got a new one. Tater Tot was an amazing Bearded Dragon that will never be replaced or forgotten. I will always cherish those memories of her and make new memories with Hashy. Sorry for this long post but I wanted to tell you everything.
