I have a female beardie I just bought about two months ago for my male beardie. They mated..well I think they did and I have noticed weight gain in her and she does a lot of digging. I put a tuperware with peat moss mixed with sand and she digs in it a lot. I'm not sure if she's gravid she eats a lot but I don't feel eggs in her. This will be her first clutch.

a photo taken from behind while you lift her rear legs slightly off the table will help us determine. Can you get one of those?

I tried to upload some pictures but it wouldn't go through. She has laid her eggs just now. I guess she was Gravid after all. I am so excited!! Thanks anyways.

A couple important things here. You have got to be sure she lays them all. Normally they do, but every once in a while one will get left. If you see her acting funny at all a day or so after she is done laying them, really inspect her belly to see if you can see any lumps left.

Also...a really good high protein/calcium meal and a nice soaking will help her recover nicely.

Are you planning on raising all the babies once they are hatched?

I am going to sell most of them to the guy who sold me all my reptiles. But I think I will keep a couple. Depending how many survive. I haven't had much luck with eggs. My Crested gecko laid a couple but I just couldn't quiet figure out how to keep them.
She is acting okay but what happens if she has a couple in her? do I take her in to the vet if she starts acting peculiar?

Most of the time they are fine and they do expel all of their eggs. It is unusual if they don't, but it can happen. Some of the symptoms would be still digging and just not acting in a normal manor. There are a few other members on here who have dealt directly with gravid females and laying of eggs and I am sure they will pipe in on any information. Again, it is not common and I don't want to scare you, it was just more of an FYI thing.
