I bought a 3 y/o min pin last night. His name is Monster. So far he's a great dog. He's my first min pin tho. Anyone have one or have had one in the past? I would love to hear about it. Thanks. I will post pics as soon as I find batteries for my camera.

we had two and they would bark constantly anytime someone came to the door. i enjoyed them other than that. when you'd say bed time or ni'night they'd go running to the laundry room where all their blankeys were and get under them as quick as they could. it was so cute!

I am absoulty in love with Monster already. He's such a good dog. He only barks when someone's at the door or when he gets super excited. He has a funny obsession with the little plastic squeakers out of the dog toys tho. Dusty was trying to hide it from him in his pocket, well Monster wanted it and decided to stick his whole head into Dusty's pocket. I took him to the vet yesterday and he's now on a diet. He's got to lose 6-7 pounds. Other than that he got a clean bill of health.

I'm hoping I put the facebook link in there right.

LOL at all these comments!! I am currently the Mommy of a my daughters Mini Pin. He is a Giant pain in the doopa. Yes..he is as acute as a button. All animals like humans are different. But this little guy is as destructive as they come. His first owners were workers and had no choice but to leave him all day. So he got the early habit of using the house as his bathroom. He can be outside for hours or just come back from a stroll run right in the house and squeeze real hard to leave his mark or a turd somewhere. He will tear up a stuff toy if you take your eyes off of him for just a moment. And has ripped up 2 different couch cushions. He hates the mailman and has scratched Deep ridges into an oak window sill. He has dragged a pair of Sarah's leopard underwear down from the her bedroom and left them in front of the glass screen door for him to see. ::) I KNOW he thought they were mine!! And he barks at anything that moves until I have to practice all the self control I can muster to keep from beating him!!! But he is so tiny I have always been afraid to even swat him.

But he is so cute at bed time as well. He lays all curled up on the couch until Mike gets up and shuts his computer or the TV off. That is his cue and he jumps up and runs downstairs to the basement and gets in his cage. Every morning he comes up and jumps in bed with me. He loves to be under the covers as well and his favorite spot is behind my bent knees. He becomes very agitated when Mike leans to kiss me Goodbye. There is only room for one man in my life(in his mind) and that is him.

My advice for you would be to give him as much attention as you can. They get into trouble when left to themselves too long. All they really want is to be on your lap being held and petted all day long.

Mike always says he looks like a bat too!!! So far he has kept his weight down and the girls and vet said he is the nicest looking Mini Pin they have seen in a long time. You'll have to watch his diet. They do get fat real fast.

yes he is very hyper, one thing that I've found that keeps him busy is to fill a rubber toy with peanut butter. He gets one when I go to work. He also gets walked for about 4 hrs a day through out the day. He's already lost about 3-4 pounds in the week that I have had him.

also, something i learned from volunteering at the animal shelter. get a kong toy, fill it 3/4 of the way with dry food and spoon some wet food in to plug the bottom. freeze it overnight with the big opening pointed up. makes them work for their treats :) kept the dogs busy for quite awhile

I have one of those toys, I fill it with peanut butter and give it to him when I leave for work.
