Wow! Poor little thing! Good on you for taking him in! How is he doing?
Maybe you can find a local wildlife sanctuary that will be better equipped to take care of the little guy and then release him back to the wild?

Well I live in Los Angeles, and he's doing a lot better but he's very skinny and really young (took him to my zoology teacher) but I have him in a 20gal tank with a bunch of rodent bedding (carefresh cause i have 3 mice) but he needs to dig but there's no dirt anywhere around and I don't understand anything! I'm feeding it hay, but he won't drink out of a bottle so i have no idea how to give it water!!

Just put a small shallow water dish, it will find it if it is thirsty. I know they like bread crumbs, crackers & grain. We used to catch them when we were kids with the old Box & a stick with a string tied to it. They don't seem to live long in captivity. I would suggest give it a good feed, leave it quiet & alone, as it is likely really scared & having you fussing around isn't helping that. Likely too frightened to eat. Then release back where you found it, ASAP.

Yeah, its a juevenile and i haven't bothered it much, its very curious of its surroundings though. i have a heat pad underneath the tank (its not burning) and i'm feeding it hay, a guinea pig mix, and alfalfa, its eating the food very well but I'll add a water dish in right away.

He hadn't made it.. 2 days after I came home and he was laying in the same spot I had seen him in the morning. I buried him in the backyard..
It was such a sad day :(
