Heihei is a pretty good eater. She eats between 8 and 21 dubia a day and she eats some greens (mustard greens seem to be her favorite so far) daily. I would like to give her more variety with her protein and would like to get some black soldier fly larva but I'm not sure where the best place to get them would be. Anyone?

She is about 2-3 months old. I checked the Greathouse Reptile Nutrition List and that lists both mustard greens and dandelion greens as daily staples. Did I miss something?

Mustard greens are a good staple, as are dandelion, collard, and turnip greens. Rotating your staple greens is a good idea, nothing wrong with a bit of variety!

I've ordered BSFL from mulberry farms and was really happy. Their prices are decent, and there were a lot more larvae than what was marked. I don't think it's a huge seller for them, so they load you up when you order them :) you can also get great prices at reptile expos, if you happen to have any near you.

Mustard greens are an excellent staple!

Places for BSFL: Mulberry Farms, DubiaRoaches.com, Linda's Gone Buggie, Rainbow Mealworms. My nephew said he just ordered from Linda's and he thought the price with shipping was really good. Linda also has other bugs like butterworms.

Absolutely! That is what we do. She will actually take a piece of mustard greens from our fingers but she pretty much ignores us when we offer the dandelion greens. She has nibbled on them a bit in her bowl, but she obviously prefers mustard greens. We will get another kind of green to introduce this weekend.

They all have their own preferences. As she grows she may get less picky. My boy used to be finicky with greens, but he'll eat anything you put in front of him now!

So the ones from dubiaroaches.com came in - they were cheaper than from phoenixworms.com - $15 for 500 large vs $23 for 500 large. However, they were smaller and I didn't like the packing media as much.

The packing media from phoenix worms is easily separated from the worms by a quick rinse in the sieve. The packing media from dubiaroaches was soil-like, with long threads of root like stuff in it, so I had to pick out each worm individually to assure there wasn't hard particles or threads mixed in.

So... right now my budget is really tight so I'll stick with dubiaroaches.com for my BSFL, but I plan on switching back to phoenixworms.com

Hope this helps!!!

Variety is always best so they don't get a liking to 1 particular thing lol
