Going away for Christmas for 3-4 days, bring or not bring dragon?

Hello all, I'm going to visit my parents for 3 possibly 4 days for Christmas. He is about 14 months old. I'm at a crossroads on whether to bring my dragon or not. He has a tank, smaller than his home tank, set up there with UVB and I can bring his food. My dilemma is that in the past when I have brought him he goes on food strike and gets stressed out, plus that tank doesn't get as warm for him as I would like since it is all glass and can get very cold where they are in NJ. Is it better to leave him in his tank at my apartment? I could probably get someone to feed him one of the days I am away. Just want to do whats best for him. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

-Rob

P.S. his home tank is set up on a timer so minus the food it's pretty self sufficient.

I thought about this dilemma myself, and decided the route I would go with my babies would be to find a trusted individual capable of caring for them in my absence. Bringing them along makes us feel better, but stresses them to the max, which is unfair to them. If you have a good friend that you can teach about your baby's care that he is already somewhat familiar with, that's probably the best route.

Certainly keep the baby at home. stress is a serious issue for dragons. if you can lessen the tension always do so.

yeah - I'm with the leave him at home. you could certainly have a neighbor check in on him. generally they're good for a few days without us interfering at all. when I leave, my neighbor comes over at least once a day (I told her once was fine, but I think she likes popping in ;-) even if she wont touch them) she will clean out the old greens and chop up new. bugs are totally out of the question, but my adults are ok without protein until I get back. I'm seldom gone longer than 7 to 10 days. and - during the winter, they eat lots less anyway. have a great weekend !

Great thanks for the feed back. I've been leaning that way anyway and realistically he'll be alone just for Saturday and Sunday and his eating has definitely slowed down since it's gotten colder and shorter days.
