Sorry if this was already posted somewhere, but I'm relatively new to the forum. After a few months I realized the salad I was giving my bearded dragon was low in nutrition. So I started offering him some new things, like collard greens, alfalfa, dandelion greens, and green beans. But he doesnt take it. Ive tried just about everything. I even rapped a cricket in a piece of collard greens, and he completely ignored it, just closed his eyes. How do I get him to take salad? He always took the stuff that I was offering him before, which was many different lettuces, along with occasional kale, carrot, and squash.

Some have had good luck with sprinkling bee pollen on it, this can be found at most vitamin stores. I put my worms and some bugs in the salad they eat the greens, they may get attracted to the moving items, if not if they bugs are eating the greens and your dragon eats the bugs well in a round about way he's getting them. Just keep trying..
what age is your dragon? young ones really are not interested until they are older.

He's about a year now, So I figured salad was suppose to be the majority of his diet.
Typically yes you are correct the older juv's and adults diets should be more greens/veggies/fruits but each dragon is different and some want more protein.. Keep offering different greens that are on the lists as there are a ton of different items surely in time you'll find something that trips his trigger :)

Just because they are of age to eat salad doesn't mean they are going to do it! I have a 3 year old and every day is a struggle with her. Lately we are trying salad at a different time of day. I usually give it in the morning but she's not really awake so I do hers in the afternoon. I sprinkle it with calcium and bee pollen so she can see it and it kinda gets her interest. I also put her worms in her salad. Either she will eat them and get a bit of salad or the worms will eat the salad and she will get her salad that way.

Real good way to get them to get green nutrients, feed it to the bugs. Sometimes I think our bugs have a better diet than we do.
Oh yea that is very true dang my fridge has never seen soo many different greens and veggies in it before :)

With Dooku I have to hand feed him the first couple pieces then while he's trying to get a piec from my hands I drop it into his mix then he usually eats a good bit
