I'm currently keeping approx. 500 Dubias at a time. I am not attempting to breed them.

- How often should I be changing their food?
- Is the Dubia Food I purchased good enough, or should I also be feeding greens, oats, etc.? (I'm also using water crystals)
- It now seems like I will need (2) containers for keeping Dubias. One for the first shipment, then a second box for the second shipment (while cleaning first enclosure). Does that sound about right?
- Are you trying to regularly/daily clean out any dead Dubias, or is it okay to leave any dead insects in the enclosure with the live ones?

I sweep my dubia container out w/ a small dust pan brush and pan -- about once a week -- I would cut the amount in half in another container

Changing their food depends on what you feed them, i clean the dry food every three days, and romove and replace the veggies about every 5 (some veggies can be left in there, i leave potatoes in the dirt and they grow roots), i feed mine “lunas roach chow” “badass roach food” and a very high quality dog food/treats , absolutely be feeding veggies! (Remember they’re keeping ur lizard healthy) i feed mine romaine lettuce, pink potatoes and yellow, carrots , and occasionally dried berries,
I recommend two different feeding dishes, one for wet food one for dry, ive never clean out my bin (i also made it bioactive , with dirt, spring tails, a couple pincher bugs and a milipede or two) your roaches should NOT be dying, sometimes wrong, and do not leave the dead in there, heres some pics of my roach bin, if you have any questions please do ask, i am rasing discoids, they’re practically the same as dubia.

Thank you, that's very helpful.

Do you not need water or water crystals (I don't see any in your pics) since they are eating the veggies?
I wasn't planning on going bioactive...is that common/recommended?

It is up to you to go bioactive I do not recommend it for first time dragon owners till they have more experience w/ their dragons -- go to the biodudes website and look there --

How the bin is set up , i have about an inch of sand for half the bin, and about two inches of dirt on the side i have their food/ where i lean the cardboard on, i mist the sand side about every other week, no i dont use water crystals, i live in FL so mold is already a huge issue here, i want the bin to have a mini climate, there’s always water droplets on the sand side , ive only had one die on me and i think thats just cause it was old(it was a winged adult after all) i dont know how common bioactive bug setups are, but ive been having very good luck with it, i started with a “breeder kit” then i I bought 100 1” roaches (for my beardie to munch on while the adults reproduce) about 3 months ago and almost all of them have molted into adults.

Yes, I was inquiring about bioactive feeder enclosures. I think, for now, I will not go bioactive.
