My mom rescued this big dragon from outside near her place and we are waiting till the end of the week to see if anyone will claim him. In the meantime I’m setting up a vet appointment and trying everything we can to make him comfortable. He’s incredibly stressed out at the moment. He’s been refusing to eat and He’s been getting dark and keeps surfing in his enclosure. Unfortunately he’s in the 40 gal temporary enclosure my Hughie was in when we first got her. It’s got all the lighting and the decorations it needs. I’m thinking of making them trade places so he’s got more room. I guess I just don’t know where to go from here. My mom is thinking about keeping him, but we aren’t sure if that’s best. Of course we would upgrade his tank if she chooses.

poor guy -- you can post some pics of him on a poster in your area and see if anyone claims him -- if your mom decides to keep him he will need a tank of 75-120 gallon - that is is what is recommended for a adult dragon- when taking him to the vet please NO ENEMAS- take the fecal in w/ you -- enemas often end in disaster --- make sure he has the correct lighting for UVB --- NO coils please --- basking temps need to be taken w/ a digital probe thermometer -- and I would NOT put him your dragons tank --- they can pass diseases on to one another -- keep us posted and if you need help please ask

Thanks Sadie :) we got him up on Nextdoor and Facebook but I’ll definitely get some posters out too. Good to know about the no switching tanks. We got an appointment for Wednesday thankfully hopefully he poops by then. All of our lighting is correct and at the right temps. Hopefully someone claims him and he just accidentally escaped.

If you want him to go poop feed him some unsweetened applesauce or canned pumpkin-- those are natural laxatives but it will make him go so you can get a fecal -- take the fecal and place in a ziploc bag set in fridge -- it will keep for 24 hrs -- if you haft to take it and drop it off at the vet --- is this vet a reptile one? here is a website to find one in case you need it

Wondering what's going on?
It's suspenseful wondering if the owners were found, what the vet said & how he is getting along. I feel so bad for him.
Hopefully he wasn't outside alone too long before your mother found him.
Please let us know what happened...TY!

I am ObtuseFrog's mom. The owner of the bearded dragon never came forward, and I decided to keep HER, and renamed her Paola. The vet gave her a clean bill of health in May. She’s in a decked out 4x2x2 now. I wish I’d gone bigger. And she is living the life!
