Hello! So I just bought my bearded dragon 2 days ago. I have 2 questions regarding his feeding. First question is for some reason he just doesn't like mealworms. When I offer him mealworms he just doesn't seem to be interested, but when I offer him crickets he takes them without hesitation! Is this normal? Second question is I've been dusting my crickets with rep-cal's multivitamins and calcium with vit.d3. What I've been doing is mixing the two together into a dish and then putting my crickets in them before i offer it to him. Should I be mixing these supplements or should I be giving them seperately on different days? I'm also curious on how often I should be dusting his food. According to the breeder he's only 8 weeks old.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!! That is great that he doesn't really want the mealworms :) as they are not a good staple for them as they contain alot of chitlin in their shells making them really hard to digest and pass. So I would avoid feeding them.. As adults and well hydrated adults they can have a few here and there....As there are really good other options for food items.... Crickets, dubia roaches (depending on where you live) superworms, hornworms, waxworms, silkworms, phoenix worms, butterworms....
If you take a look at the links below some of our comments you'll find a link for new comers in there you will find information on supplements and how often to give. You should have Calcium with D3 Calcium without D3 and a multi vit.. I do the same I mix it up in a dish shake them around and put them in the dish to feed.
