Hi all,

You probably won't remember but some time ago I posted in the beardie health section. My beardie Fluffy had pooped out his anus (prolapse) and I was worried it would'nt go back in. It go lubed washed sugared daily, it was in and out like dog seeing a cat in the garden.

Fortunately it always went back in, but alas eventually even more of it came out, it swelled up and would not go back in, fluff was bleeding and obviously distressed. So he went to the vet, who put him under and managed to push it back in, then stitched up each side (all for only £40).

Fluff was off his food for two weeks after that, I saw a fat little lizard turn into skin and bones. He ate 1 blueberry in that time and pooped twice (tried every day but could not, his chin got so black it spread onto his belly)

Eventually it was time for stitches out, so the vet took one out, the other will be out in two weeks, Fluff is back eating again - for 50 lizards! wax worms, mario worms, crickets, cress, kale - blueberries! he even keeps trying to eat me!

It's nice to see his personality back, friendly and bubbly again.

Just wanted to say thanks for your help at the time! :) hope all's well.

Thanks for the update, glad he's going to be okay! Prolapse is a very scary thing.

Thanks :) he's fast asleep right now on his tree branch. Like it never happend. Hopefully it wont happen again (finger crossed). I'm worried he's not getting as big as he should though. hes about 7 months old and is about 40cm head to tip of tail. Or maybe I'm just hoping for a big boy and he's just naturally not as big as I want.
