So my Beauty Duchess Zephariah is shedding for the first time or at least it is the first time that i know of. she is not eating which i hear is normal but she seems to be losing weight as well because it has been over 48 hours since she has ate anything. i was just wondering about other peoples experiences so as to help me with my worry. I have been giving her her normal baths and she has been doing well i don't want her to get dehydrated. so any input and advice would be greatly appreciated. Her head and one of her legs has started to turn grey, hw long does the shedding process take?

Shedding is so rough on them. Just keep giving her baths and drip some water on the tip of her nose or swirl the water in front of her to get her to drink some. That should keep her hydrated. 48 hours is a long time to go on a hunger strike. How old is she and what is her lighting and temperatures like?

she is about 4 months old and ya still not wanting to eat she has a basking light but I'm beginning to wonder if its not good enough bulb so ill be headed back to the store to see what i can find. she has been really upset flaring beard and opening her mouth. i will keep her hydrated gonna be giving her a bath today so she can soak up all the water she needs. she however does not seem pleased when i leave the food in the bowl thing they have. she then is on the farther part of her tank trying to get away it seems like.

I agree with patsyB what are your temps and what UVB and basking lighting do you have? It could be that it's too hot, it could be too cold, try a different bowl to feed from ... I know for some having clear bowls work best some like white bowls, some use paper plates.. My female likes her salad in a white dish and her bugs are in a clear dish. my little male could care less as long as there is food there.

Thanks for the help guys she has actually ate some food today so that's good I have been giving her baths and she has really started the shedding process on hear head and around her eyes so I think we will be ok. Right now she is sleeping tucked away in a warm spot on my couch beside me. Very happy and content.
