My Beardie Peach is in her first brumate.. And she is my first Beardie baby. She is 10months old, and is 20 inches. I started noticing her appetite changing around the 13 of this month. And her poo had went from GIANT plops to tiny normal looking ones. Now she is sleeping. I am just gonna miss her. And I have been freaking out. Now I am accepting it but I don't like it.

I hate brumation..10 months is still on the young side so Peach will likely be sluggish or sleep for a few days or weeks then up to eat /bask/poop then down again.. as at 10 months they really haven't built up the reserves they need.. make sure she gives you a parasite free poop before sleeping for too long.

Thank you for replying. She was giving me definate signs but even though she is on the larger side, being 20 inches long and fat I thought she was too young. So her being only 10 months she shouldn't sleep for months? I would be so happy for it to be only a short while. Because I miss her cuddles already and its only been 24 hours.

Every beardie is different but they typically don't fully brumate until 18 months of age. just make sure she doesn't sleep for more than 3 days with food in her belly.

She had a small poo yesterday morning right after a piece of squash. That is what I had noticed happening about a week or so ago. Her bathroom habits had changed. So I finally realized what was happening. I gave her a bath and a blanket and she has been sleeping since. I have checked on her by lifting her front leg and her eye popped open. I was a very happy mom..lol

I completely understand this! Ember has been my service animal, so to speak. When I left my ex-husband, I got her. When I'm not at work, and it's warm out, she is usually with me. I keep a heated blanket on my couch and bed for her. She sleeps with me now that she is bigger. She slept for two days. Made me so sad! I missed her so much! Felt like I had no reason to go home. She is my happy! I nicknamed her "Splat" because of some of the funny positions she lays in. Looks like she was dropped and stayed there, lol. I uploaded pics just cuz. I like sharing her.

Hi..My beardie Peach has been acting different since waking from her 5 day nap. She woke on Feb 25. She has been eating her salad. She has always loved her veggies . She would eat a couple crickets here and there. About a week ago her cricket appetite was better. She pooped 3 times 2 small and one that looked like before her nap. Now she hasn't "plopped' for 4 days. My concern is that she is eating very well, but what goes in, must come out. She is getting warm baths with down her tail massages. And she is sleeping aloft. Not hard to wake or lethargy but more than before.....The first image was taken yesterday. One of her favorite positions. And the second one was taken the day she woke up. I am used to her plopping once every other day. Should I be concerned?
