Hey all. My Beardy finally shed! I was getting worried b/c his color was dulling out for the past week or so. Last night he finally started to rub himself on the tree branch. I have him a long soak in a nice warm bath. He looked like he enjoyed it. I gave him a way to get out of the water but he just kept swimming and floating around. Lol

Yea! glad to hear that! The process can take a long time at times it seems. And when they are growing they shed alot! :) Baths are great to help aide in the process. My Izzy is shedding right now still....she loves to float/swim :)

My Dolly has been moody all week because she's starting a full shed. The other day she pushed me away when I tried brushing her with the tooth brush and today she was perfectly fine letting me rub her down in the tub and try to loosen some of that skin. She runs around the house and sounds like she's wearing a diaper!

Dolly is my rescue she's missing part of her tail. The last time I measured her she was 12 3/4 inches and 399 grams. She put on 120 grams in a month!

Either I measured wrong or something is off......she seems ok size-wise but huge weight-wise....Yoshi has a full tail and is 15 inches and weighs only 170g

They all grow at different rates. I just pulled out my weights for Dexter and Luci...

Turns out Dolly is on the big side LOL! When Luci was 12 3/4 he was 102g and when Dexter was that length she was 105! But Dolly is missing half her tail so she could really be more like 15-16 inches if she did. Luci stayed at 15 inches for awhile and he was 195-236g. At 15 inches Dexter was 190-197g.

You should also know that when Dexter turned 3 in December she was 530g and Luci at 2 years old, was 555g, they are FAT! Luci looks a little fatter because he is shorter 17.5 inches where Dexter is almost 19. I looked up the healthy weight for adult dragons and they say that 500 is a good weight. So we are on diets right now LOL!

Mine started shedding yesterday and man is he in a bad mood. Usually he's fine after I catch him and enjoys the petting, but yesterday he struggled, hissed, and would not calm down. Poor baby is not enjoying his shedding at all.

It can be a irritating time for them, increase his times that you put him in a soak to help loosen up his shed so he can get it off easier.. Keeping them nice and hydrated will help..
