Feeding babies

My beardie is about 6-8 weeks old, and he eats crickets just fine. However, I would like for him to eat veggies at least once every few days. When I put the veggies in his enclosure he can never seem to get interested in them, but if I hand-feed them to him he will eat them just fine. Is hand-feeding a bad habit to get into, or is it fine for babies?

I hand feed every time I get haha that's if I have time.but them eating veggies will come with time.just keep adding some everyday and it will eventually eat them

Its fine as long as you have the time. They can get spoiled to it quick tho so beware. Im sure as any habit it can be broke as well but just beaware

I sprinkle the crickets into the salad in hopes they associate it all with eating. Usually they will "accidentally" pick up some salad when they go for a cricket.

Patsy; I also did that with a big female I had and she by accident ate the salad and from that point on she ate salad twice a day.Or I would put a worm in the salad as they all loves worms-river-7

I always do the worm trick with Dexter and she is so smart she would pick around the salad to eat the worms! This week she's been good and eating mouthfuls of salad too!

I tried that and vinnie did the same thing picked the worms right out

Thanks for all the advice everyone, I will try out some of these methods and see what happens!
