I just bought my dragon a tank that's 6 ft in length. How many uvb bulbs and watts would I need for a tank that size. Right now he has a zoo med 10.0 13 watt mini light pointed at his basking spot because he spends 90% of his time there. He's 4 mon old. Eventually as he gets bigger I'm sure he'll use the whole cage. I want to make sure he gets the correct lighting.

U need to get rid of the coil bulb asap… you want a long tubular uvb, and no longer than 70% the length of the enclosure, you want dark areas they can hide in if they want to escape the light..

You can go w/ the 24" but w/ a 6 foot tank I would lean more toward a 30" --how old is the dragon now? If he is a baby I would section that tank in half for now--- you can put up a piece of cardboard or something similar for now - make sure its a T 5 --- no T 8's they are not adequate enough for a tank that size --- depending on the screen it can sit on top but the screen MUST BE a wide hole type --- fine mesh the UVB needs to be inside the tank w/ a distance of 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor piece ---

I put a hiding box in the middle of the cage.

this is just the uvb florescent light over his cage without heat lamps on. From the light to the top of his head measures 15 inches. I plan on getting the 24 in light fixture. He usually goes under his hammock I made him to get out of heat & lights. He has other hides too but this seems to be his favorite. I just purchased this tank 2 weeks ago. I'm ordering more stuff to make it look better.

This is the top of the cage so the holes are pretty big for lighting & heat

Think I'm going to do the cardboard and block half his cage. I'm having a hard time with the humidity at night. It's going to 53%. Day time basking temperature is usually 101 -108. I adjust them sometimes.

Your humidity is fine-- are you using a stick on hygrometer or a digital probe hygrometer? I would recommend a digital probe thermometer place on back center wall- of tank it will read the whole tank - you want optimal 20-50%--you don't want below 20 and above 70%-- temps for a juvie/ adult 95-100 babies 105-110- and those need to be taken w/ a digital probe thermometer
