Hey guys,

I know it's been awhile since I've been on here. A lot's happened. Any who, I still have my lovely beardie Jethro, and a new one named Harvey that I adopted about a year ago-ish. I am a major major lover of the show Doctor Who. And I told my now husband that should we ever get married, we'd have a Doctor Who themed wedding. Well I got my wish. I even got to have a life sized TARDIS, which due to rain, we did not get to use (mother got me a back up cardboard for inside wedding).

That being said, I now have a life size TARDIS that is disassembled in my carport and taking up space. My husband wants to turn part of it into a coffee table which is fine. However, I want to turn the parts we don't use into a TARDIS themed enclosure for my Jethro, and move Harvey into Jethro's tank.

It's mostly plywood with some 2x4s. The paint we used is outside paint, but what we're thinking of doing, or I am, is to get extra plywood or something else that would be good as a backing for the inside of the enclosure, and get a cheap form of plexi-glass for the inside on the bottom, and then the front of the "TARDIS" tank. I need to know if this is a good idea or should start completely over with different methods. We're going to get a mesh screen for the top like the one Jethro currently has. For those who are not familiar with Doctor Who, here is a picture of the life sized TARDIS that we got for my wedding:

Very cool. It's too tall for beardie, you'd have to lay it on it's side.

Thank you everyone! We're very happy and thinking of cutting it down to size. Taking measurements based off the 40 gallon tank we already have.

40 gallons on the outside – but – it will be bigger on the inside! :)

Haha that's the goal Canicke! I'm doing research on DIY terrariums for beardies. Looks like I will be able to do it. Just need to find a way to get the easiest way to keep it cleaned once it is done.

"Bigger on the inside" LOL true Whovian quote. Couldn't see the pic but I suspect it is at least 6 ft tall, You could cut it in half and make 2 tanks side by side.
My home made tank (See delux Apartment thread). is pretty much all tile or grout coating on the exposed wood. You could give a real good sanding with 35 grit and then tint the grout blue? Or just duplicate the inside of the real TARDIS with plexi painted on the back side

That sounds great Paarthumax, I'll take a look at your thread. I've also been doing some research on YouTube, lots of stuff done by hand but a lot of it's foam. I just want to know how well that holds up? How do you clean it? That sort of thing.
