Enclosure Advice?

So I was thinking about building this to house my geckos, and my beardie when I get one. I found this picture on Google, and thought it would be an awesome idea. Except I wanted it to have enclosures all the way down. Any one have any tips, or advice/ideas? I have no clue what to do about heating. I am using an UTH at the moment under my gecko tank. I'm not sure how I'd go about using one with this shelf tho. Another idea I had was to get 20 gallon long aquariums, and put them in on their side, with the top facing out..and possibly hinge them on. Any ideas, or advice will be much appreciated! One more thing, I've heard of the heat tape, but I have never used it. Would it be safe to use? If so, how would I go about using it? Sorry for the long post .

Yes. I have an under the tank heating mat, with carpet over it. And then I have a lamp.

All heat should only come from above. They can't sense heat on the bottom. Do you have a basking lamp?

They meant they use an UTH for their geckos. They don't have a beardie yet.

I don't know how you would do under the tank heat in something like this. You may just need to put tanks on the shelves for the geckos and drill a whole in the back for the cord to go through.

Like Tony said, beardies need over the head heat so you can probably just mount that on the top of their enclosure somehow.

Would a beardie need a heat mat?
No not at all beardies can not sense heat on their bellies very well and will burn themselves ... only heat from basking lamps and UVB from above

Bit late but curious about heat tape....Would that work for a Beardie? My friend uses it for her snake racks
