Just consulted my bibles Bri,
V.t.orientalis is the "non-blackhead form" it ic commonly found on the eastern part of the range in QLD. Avg humidity up there 60-70%. It is commonly refered to as the freckled monitor down here as an alternative name to "black-head" which is V.t.tritis.
Enclosure taken from "keeping and breeding Australian Lizards" monitor section authors Grant Husband, Matthew Bonnet.
Minimum Enclosure size for v.t.tristis/orientalis 100cm x 60cm x 100cm. Temps 40-50oC on the hot side. UV not needed but beneficial.
Substrate sand or soil. Plenty of vertical hide and climbing branches to increase enlosure usability. "Ackie stack" beneficial under the basking lights.
So realistically if you wanted to keep a trio, I think you can get away with all three in a 5' x 3' x 5' enclosure. Just make sure you mark out that space already in your new house lol.
I doubt she would care about the bites, claw cuts, and tail whips, what she cares about is more reptiles lol. She is adamantly against it.Red Ink AUS said:Aww but monitors are so cute, tail whips are a sign of love, it's like a love tap :. lol
