Elderly beardie with tail rot

Hi and happy New Years to anyone who sees my post! So I just noticed recently that my 11 year old beardie is showing signs of tail rot. Basically the end of her tail is black, wrinkly, stiff as a log and she has zero feeling in it. I’ve only had her since February of last year and I think she’s had it since than and it has slowly gotten worse from then. It’s not too bad it doesn’t cover more than an inch of her tail. I am calling the vet tomorrow and I’ll probably have an appointment with them for next week. I just want to ask a couple questions or hear from people who’ve had similar experience with tail rot.
1. Is there anything I can do in the meantime? She doesn’t look in pain at all and is exhibiting normal behaviour for an 11 year old beardie.
2. If the vet recommends amputation right away should I do it or ask for alternative solution? I ask this because I’ve heard a lot of other owners who’s beardies didn’t respond well to the sedation drugs.
3. what do you think is the best course of action so she will end up being ok after all this?

If its indeed tail rot and from the sounds of what you described its dead and they should not haft to sedate her shes not going to have any feeling in it anyway --- thank goodness it did not get any worse for as long as she has had this issue - the infection could of creeped up the tail and that would not have been a good out come --- if your taking her in please make sure the vet knows what they are doing --- I can give you a website for a reptile vet in your area --
www.arav.org can you post a pic of the tail please

Thank you so much for replying and letting me know I don’t have to worry about sedation, sometimes the thought of it gets me panicking. Don’t worry about the vet I have a great one I go to with my beardies and she’s super helpful and amazing and she dies for my Cleopatra lol. I’m at work now but I finish and 9 EST so I will send in a picture let’s say around 9:15 before she goes to bed.

Here are some pictures of her tail and then of her just in case you wanted to see her demeanour or physical behaviour
