Eating less and more picky...seems healthy?

This is Kai. He used to chow down on crickets like crazy but seems to be less interested in food and particularly bugs although he does eat a little salad. I feed him collard greens, butternut or other squashes, dandelion greens, mustard greens or turnip greens, bits of red pepper, and occasionally shredded carrots. He poops ok and his legs seem straight. He has enough uv lighting and a 100 watt heat bulb that keeps his basking area between 92 and 100 degrees. He doesnt bask all day so he seems plenty warm. He likes to rest with his front paws? claws? on his rock and watch his surroundings. He seems like he doesnt see well but idk it could just be my opinion. He is very lazy and doesnt like to chase crickets except when he is very hungry. Is he doing ok? He seems afraid of hornworms and doesnt really like them. He only gets worms including mealworms less than weekly as a treat. Roaches are not an option. I have not tried superworms or waxworms. Thoughts?

Here is the rest of his tank. A bigger tank is also not an option due to the size of the room. It is a 40 or 50 gallon tank and hes not really a runner or a glass surfer. He is a calm guy.

I would switch the main staple feeder out to either silk worms or BSFL - the BSFL are very small so he would need to eat alot of them on the days hes fed the staple feeder of which should be 2-3 times per week - I am sorry but the tank is way to small for him-- can you not move him to a different room? Why can you not feed him dubias? Your getting ambient temps w/ the gauge I am seeing you need a digital probe thermometer for accurate surface basking temps- I would offer him super worms 1-3 every couple of days - wax worms are very fatty and long term can cause liver damage-- what are you using for a UVB bulb please and where do you have it placed for the tank ?

Ohh 2 or 3 times a week? Then I guess he is getting enough food. No, cant move him, he is my grandsons actually so Im limited in the space. How many silkworms at a time please, and how many would be a lot of BSFL? Daughter wont allow dubias because of the roach name sigh. We use a T5 reptisun UVB from zoo med and also have a combo light with 100 watt heat light and a combo uvb bulb in the other fixture whoch i know is not the right kind but have to use in addition to the t5 because have to put something in the other fixture. The cool side is 73 degrees currently and the warm side is 93.4 right now. It has gone as high as 101 but we live in upstate ny and it is only 18 degrees outside right now! He has never had a waxworm so I wont buy them. Where do you find a digital probe thermometer and how do you use them? We cant even find tops for larger tanks around here! He really doesnt spend much time basking...just in the morning.

The dragon is a year old? Correct? Silkworms around 5-6 every 2 - 3 days- www.reptilianarts.com BSFL www.symtonbsf.com order large-- I never fed them to my adult dragons only when they were babies and that was about 20-25 at a time - but I was feeding dubias as the main staple - for an adult dragon BSFL I am gonna say around 50- 100 they are calcium enriched - dubias are a way better feeder and are so easy to keep than crickets - I wasnt a fan at first either just saying the name roaches but I got over it and would never go back to crickets again - the T 5 is a great bulb please make sure its not over 11 months old and in the tank or unobstructed 12-15 inches directly above his basking decor piece - if the other bulb in the dome is a coil UVB get rid of it or shut it off - those will cause all kinds of health issues -- they are NO good - the dome can stay empty or off I dont know if its dual switch - cool side during the day should be 80ish the 73 is more for night time temps- you can get a digital probe thermometer from Petco PetSmart or on line Zoo Med makes them https://www.petsmart.com/reptile/en...tile-terrarium-digital-thermometer-14914.html
you want surface basking temps 95-100 this is to start digestion and ambient temps around 100 on your hot side
