We recently switched from crickets to Dubias and couldnt be happier [emoji7] . Cleaner and easier to catch! Any last forever lol. My question is my 4 month old beardies is eating the tiny quarter inch nymphs. He can eat at least 20 or 30 at a time. How many do yours usually eat?

Sounds like you need to go to a bigger size. My 16 week old beardie normally only eats about 7 medium to large 3/4 inch size ones at a time for a total of about 20 a day.

Plus he also gets about 30 BSFL's at each feeding.

You are right dubia's are awesome!! My beardie's love them!

Hi there!! Hows Sir Wallace?

Sir Wallace is doing great, thank you! He is in a full shed right now so he's a bit grumpy or maybe it's because we just got a new baby beardie yesterday and he can smell her in the room? Idk? They can't see each other.

How is Niles?

BSFL's - black soldier fly larvae, they are the best when it comes to worms. Like dubia's are the best in the insect world. Bsfl do not need to be dusted, the have little to no chitin. They can stop or reverse MBD. just amazing little things.

So my babies get Dubia's and BSFL's with an occasional superworm as a treat.

Wally is eating is greens really good now!! The baby, Sapphire, not so much but she is TINY & YOUNG!

I get mine from Texas A&M & they are amazing!!!! I can send you the link if you like. Only took 2 days to get here and Wally ate like 40 of them tonight after his normal dubia's and I was bad and gave him a superworm! Lol

Yep sounds like you can go up on size of the dubia.. as long as they are not wider in width than the space between the beardie's eyes...however since dubia's are softbellied it isn't always a must... just try a bigger one and see how they do with the size if they have issues and really have to work to chew it then go down a bit in size until they can eat/chew it well..
My 9-10mth male eats about 5-6 med to adult dubia, 6 supers a day.. Simon is about 19" long and 466 gr so I watch how much he eats along with his salad.. My female who is a year and a half eats 1-2 med to adult dubia, 6 supers along with greens she's 18" and 375 gr
