Dubia colony- how to keep fly free?

So I find the occasional fruit fly in my colony, not a big deal, but I just deep cleaned my bin because I found eggs in it. :(

I change out the food every 2-3 days (what's left of it), and I spot clean the bin weekly. I have read that you don't want to get rid of the frass because the baby dubia like to hide it in, but if flies are breeding in it not sure what to do... anyone else have this issue?

Also my CHE melted a hole in my bin so I need to rethink that... luckily since the hole was in the top not many escaped (I hope). When I woke up this morning there was a trail of them leading back to my reptile room that I was frantically picking up before my fiance saw them... worst scavenger hunt ever.

I think raid makes fruit fly traps that work pretty decent. You can also make your own fruit fly traps (Google has lots of options). Set the traps next to your tank and it should help.

Yea the summer months are hard to keep the fruit flies under control.. however what I have done in the past is put a bit of masking tape at the top of the bin out of reach of dubia and the flies stick to that.. also the little traps you can get at the grocery store work well, you can make your own too but I have better luck with tape and I also use that sticky tape you pull out for house flies works well just hanging in a corner by the containers. In the summer months I find you need to replace the fruit especially oranges (if you feed them) more frequently..

Another thing I just remember from my bio active group, they said get a carnivorous plant and put it next to the tank to catch the flies!
