Slyder is at the end of yet another shed and has already ghosted on her head and tail again(good thing). The part that is driving me crazy, this is day 2 of her running around, glass dancing, rearranging her viv, and scratching like a dog. Looks like it should fall off today. Off to the bath for her when Jordan takes his nap.
I went into the store I was told she came from to look for a better basking spot. I have tried to avoid this store b/c they are the ones who told that guy how to care for Slyder and it almost killed her. Also the first time I went in there the animals were living in HORRIBLE conditions. I was very surprised when I walked in this time that the living conditions of the animals was GREATLY improved. The new owner said he took over in January and has been working to correct things, but with so many things wrong it is taking him a long time and a lot of money. There are still a few things I did not like but the major things have been fixed, the adult monitor is no longer there, he was being kept in a 75 gallon tank, the breading adult dragons are no longer in a 20 gallon viv. They are in their own 40 breeder vivs and there were only 3 baby beardies, the male in one 10 gallon and 2 females in another 10 gallon. Every animal that needed UV lights had one and everyone had heat lamps.
Now for the really good news. I asked him if he knew Slyders hatch date(don't know why I did not think to ask him a long time ago). Since she was hatched before he took over the store he did not have the exact date but was able to tell me she was hatched in September 2009. Sad thing is when I got her she was 6 months old and only 7-8 inches long
I measured her a few days ago and she came in at 15 inches!!!
