I've had her for 4 months and she's about 2 years old. In the past couple days very large portions of her epidermis have been drying out and falling off, revealing the lower layer of skin underneath. This is a very serious problem because the colors of her skin are much brighter because it is much closer to her blood within. Please respond as soon as possible.

That's normal shed. Please read the care sheets on bearded dragon as something like this should of been expected and normal for a well informed keeper.

I thought beardless didn't shed? This is the first time I've heard anything about their skin coming off naturally and I've gotten all of my information from a friend that has had multiple dragons for several years and she says this is not normal at all.

It's absolutely normal. Dragons shed their skin at different rates, usually based on their growth. Unfortunately the person giving you the information is wrong on this occasion. You can ask any reptile vet or qualified herpetologist and they will tell you that yes, bearded dragons do indeed shed their skin and it is nothing to worry about.

yeah - totally normal. some shed more frequently than others. adults shed less often than babies or juvies. some will eat their shed - which may be why your friend hasn't seen this. aren't they beautiful after they shed? some beardies get a little "testy" when shedding. some will have a change in appetite. not a thing to worry about!

Especially during the first year of having your beardie, they will shed frequently. This is due to them growing so much. So, don't worry and know that this is something that will happen lots. However, DO NOT PICK THE SKIN OFF, your beardie needs to learn to rub it off. You can though, give them baths that will help soften the skin. Your beardie is okay.

Once they begin to age, it will become less frequently, but either way do not worry.
